Hello everyone,

We are lucky in Seattle to have a fantastic aviation and space museum - the Museum of Flight. It's Vision statement is that it wants to be, "The foremost educational air and space museum in the world." Having been there many times, I can attest that it is a great place with a ton of great things to explore.

Besides offering a great museum for kids (and adults) to explore, the Museum of Flight offers a number of different lessons for all grade levels. Some of the lessons are on-site at the museum, but the museum also offers lessons at off-site areas (like your school). The prices for both on and off site lessons generally range between $150 and $500 per class (some are less expensive per pupil if you want to do a whole school assembly). This roughly breaks down to between $5 and $18 per student, depending on class size. There are some discounts available, depending on your school's free and reduced lunch percentage.

Some of the Lessons offered are:
1) Robot Garage: Where the students learn about and actually build a robot.
2) Yes, It's Rocket Science: Where the students learn about and build rockets.
3) The Challenger Learning Center: Where the students get to participate in a simulation of a space adventure.
4) The Aviation Learning Center: Where the students get to plan an airplane trip and take a ride in an aircraft simulator.

Below are a couple of videos from the Challenger Learning Center and the Aviation Learning Center. They look to be great experiences for the students.

Many more lessons are offered. If you would like more information about the lessons offered, click here to look at the Museum of Flight's lesson Brochure.
